Hey, if you've stopped by because the title leads you to believe I'm blogging about the Michael Jackson trial I am not sorry to disappoint you.
This is about my man, Randy Thomas. He shared his story of struggling with same-sex attraction recently at a church in Stockton, CA. I had heard parts of his story but never all of it. So often same gender attraction gets hijacked into the political arena. It is good for all of us to put faces on those who live the challenges involved in this area. Randy wants you to know this about himself, "My goal was not to be a heterosexual cookie cookie Christian. My goal is Jesus, Holiness. I am not gay, ex-gay, or a straight wannabee. I am Randy, your brother in Christ."
He is a good man.
Randy also has a great story about God speaking to him concerning the Leviticus 18:22 abomination scripture. It was about the only scripture Randy knew as a young Christian. Randy comically and powerfully tells how God showed him that 'it' (a man lying with a man like a woman) is the abomination not Randy. A huge difference. God has never rejected Randy. Randy also mentioned that AIDS is not of God but a product of sin in a brokern world.
